The c-book authoring environment (CBA for short if the focus is not on the authoring part it is usually abbreviated by CBE and sometimes for historical reasons also called Digital Mathematics Environment, DME for short) and the c-book player support this creative process by providing a standardized programming interface for small pieces of software, the so-called c-book-widgets. Another important aspect is that, as an intermediate user, teachers may adapt existing c-books if they wish, and hence be creative in this way, too. The main idea behind c-books is that not only the authors are creative while writing a c-book, but also the readers/learners become mathematically creative while working with c-books.
